With 2021 Jordan Hinds sidelined, Jr. Guard Kevin Pazmino and Sr. G/F Jaylen Bernard knew they would have to step up their game for the Kreul Classic game taking on The Rock. The Rock, a fixture as one of the elite programs in Florida, came to South Florida with a roster featuring 6 players over 6'7. A program that has grown NBA players like Joel Embiid was a great matchup for the Lightning.
The Lightning fought hard behind the duo of Pazmino and Bernard. With 2:00 left the Lightning had a chance to take the lead, but inevitably fell short to the Kruel Classic Champions. 6'4 Kevin Pazmino 2022 put on a scoring clinic leading all game scorers with 24 points. His shotmaking and skill set can be seen on the video below.
2021, 6'6 Jaylen Bernard, did not back down from the challenge. He scored 20 points, pushing tempo, drawing the bigger defenders out on the perimeter and using his skill set to score inside and out.
